Do you have a passion for sales, developing and fostering new relationships and strengthening existing ones? Do you find satisfaction in being able to provide support and service to your clients using the established network you have built over the years? Do you have a transportation network comprised of reliable asset-based carriers in the US? If you said yes to this, we want to hear from you! Our client is a leader in providing transportation solutions coast to coast. With their head office in Ontario, Canada, they are looking for a dynamic carrier sales agent to help them with their rapid expansion and growth into the US market. Your main task is to leverage your own network of transportation providers in the US. You will need to use your knowledge in transportation to move freight in the US market.

Les tâches

  • Identify and select your reliable sources for transport to assist you in moving various types of freight in the US.
  • Establish a strong network of asset-based transport companies in the US.
  • Penetrate and establish rapport with the smaller transport companies that may have a niche into certain parts of the US or in the type of loads being moved.
  • Use your knowledge of the transport market, whether it be contract rates or spot rates, to move freight.
  • Identify what a competitive price would be to move freight in parts of the US.
  • Carry out any other similar task.

Exigences du poste

  • A minimum of 3-5 years working in the US transportation industry.
  • US domestic market is a key asset.
  • US cross border, LTL, TL experience.
  • Comfort level knowledge of the spot market – contract rates versus spot rates.
  • Background knowledge of CRM use and functions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, have effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Essentially, have the ability, the network, relationships to move freight in different types of modes in the US market.
