As a Technical Designer, you will be the architect of assembly plans for large steel structures, such as domes. Your pencil will be the primary tool to transform ideas into clear and precise execution plans. With your expertise in Inventor and AutoCAD software, you will not only be drawing but also coordinating projects with the engineering team to ensure flawless execution. Tasks

  • Design and develop shop, assembly, and structural drawings using Inventor software, adhering to technical specifications and industry standards.
  • Develop standard assembly and production plans, graphically representing each piece (beams, columns, anchors, etc.) to facilitate assembly.
  • Create, organize, and adjust production plans to ensure their compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate in designing new parts and models by proposing innovative and functional solutions.
  • Prepare and organize essential documentation for clients and internal teams.
  • Identify and catalog required assembly materials by establishing a complete Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Maintain and update the design parts database to ensure efficient resource management.
  • Verify and record all information in both physical and electronic client files.
  • Actively contribute to various special projects by bringing your expertise and ideas to tackle new challenges.
  • Adhere to OHS standards by wearing the necessary safety equipment (boots, glasses, earplugs, etc.) required by the work environment.
  • Perform any other related tasks according to project needs.

Job requirements

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in industrial drafting or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating practical and relevant expertise.
  • Proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD software (mandatory).
  • Bilingualism in French and English, essential for effective communication with teams and clients.
  • Knowledge of other parametric software (an asset).
