Our client, a fast-growing company working in the development and manufacturing of coatings for concrete floors, is looking for a Research and Development Manager who will be responsible for overseeing laboratory activities, as well as research, development, and quality control. Tasks

  • Lead and develop the R&D team as well as the quality control processes, while ensuring its creative and meticulous environment to meet the needs of users and installers of polymer floors;
  • Offer continuous improvement for products and test protocols in R&D and quality control;
  • Provide leadership and technical direction at all stages of interdisciplinary R&D projects in order to meet goals and deadlines;
  • Follow up on your team’s projects and take on certain development ventures for new products;
  • Liaise with the production teams to scale up manufacturing from laboratory batches to production batches, but also with the sales team or customers for any technical support;
  • Ensure the documentation, use and continuous improvement of the ERP system and SOP processes for laboratory-related modules;
  • Perform any other tasks related to the position.

Job requirements

  • Training in chemistry and business administration;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of chemistry, preferably in polymers in flooring or other surfaces;
  • Experience in managing and supervising engineers and scientists, in managing research projects that have resulted in the success of R&D programs;
  • Understanding of raw material interactions and performance in paint formulations and relevant testing associated with different types of coating products;
  • Knowledge of industry standards related to laboratory management, especially for the safe use, storage and disposal of chemicals;
  • Complete mastery of the Office suite, software related to production and design.
