Our client is currently seeking an Accounting Technician for its Blainville site. Recognized as a major player in the distribution of packaging, supplies, and equipment across North America, the company stands out for its sustained growth and strong presence in Canada. In this role, you will play a key part within the accounting team by ensuring the accuracy of daily financial operations. You will actively participate in the full accounting cycle, financial analyses, as well as month-end and year-end activities.

Tasks

  • Perform the full accounting cycle.
  • Carry out bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly tax remittances.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable and prepare payments.
  • Record accounting entries and adjusting entries.
  • Respond to client(s) and supplier(s) inquiries.
  • Verify and prepare documents required for month-end and year-end processes.
  • Prepare monthly accounting analyses and act as a resource person.
  • Participate in payroll preparation.
  • Produce various analyses using Excel.
  • Support the accounts receivable team with collection activities.
  • Perform various related administrative tasks, including document preparation, filing, and record keeping.

Job requirements

  • DEC in Accounting or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced level of Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English, spoken and written (approximately 30% of communication in English, including interactions with colleagues in Ontario).
