Our partner, a family-owned company specializing in forklifts, is currently seeking an Accounting Technician to join its team. In this role, you will contribute directly to the company’s accounting, administrative, and financial management. You will be involved in daily operations, bookkeeping, accounts receivable and payable management, as well as various essential administrative responsibilities that support the organization’s smooth operation.

Tasks

  • Performing general and analytical accounting and ensuring compliance with accounting and tax standards.
  • Managing daily accounting, administrative, and financial operations.
  • Managing cash flow, variances, and risks.
  • Maintaining accurate and rigorous bookkeeping.
  • Processing employee payroll.
  • Managing accounts receivable and ensuring payment follow-ups.
  • Managing office supplies and ensuring proper inventory levels.
  • Supervising accounts payable, including transportation suppliers (Dicom, Purolator, etc.).
  • Maintaining accounting records and producing required government reports.
  • Contacting clients to follow up on outstanding accounts.
  • Resolving issues related to customer and supplier invoices.
  • Coordinating the management of technicians’ vehicles (registrations, GPS, maintenance appointments).
  • Managing communication systems, including landline and mobile phones for technicians.
  • Participating in the organization of occasional festive events (e.g., Christmas).
  • Performing any other tasks required for the position.

Job requirements

  • DEP, DEC, or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a similar position.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a role involving communication with clients or suppliers.
  • Bilingualism required (communications with English-speaking clients and suppliers; approximately 50% of communications in English).
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to use an ERP system.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong priority management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Avantages software (an asset).
