Do you have experience in tree felling and operating forestry equipment? We are looking for a Chainsaw and Forestry Skidder Operator to take part in the different stages of timber harvesting, from cutting trees to skidding them to the loading area.
In the field, you will alternate between chainsaw work and operating skidding equipment. You will be responsible for assessing site conditions, working safely, and ensuring your equipment remains in good working order.
Tasks
Fell, delimb and buck trees using a chainsaw.
Operate a skidder to transport trees from the cutting area to the loading area.
Assess terrain, weather conditions and potential hazards before beginning work.
Plan equipment routes and movements throughout the worksite.
Inspect the chainsaw, skidder and other equipment before use.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and machinery.
Work closely with other crew members to keep operations moving efficiently.
Follow health and safety procedures as well as environmental regulations.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements
Experience in landscaping, tree felling, bucking or logging is required.
Experience operating a skidder or other forestry equipment.
Strong chainsaw operating skills.
Ability to assess terrain and identify hazards associated with tree-felling operations.
Ability to perform basic maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver’s licence required for travel between multiple worksites.
Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
Reliable, self-sufficient and able to work effectively as part of a team.
