Our client, a well-established commercial real estate company with over 40 years of experience, is seeking a detail-oriented, autonomous, and strategic Controller to join their team.
This is a key role within a growing organization, where the selected candidate will play a central role in overall financial management and real estate projects. The ideal candidate combines strong financial expertise, business acumen, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Tasks
Oversee all accounting activities (full-cycle accounting, payroll, taxes, reconciliations).
Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and variance reports.
Manage fixed assets, tax slips, and year-end obligations.
Work closely with auditors, financial institutions, legal counsel, and government agencies.
Oversee tenant-related matters (CAM reconciliations, leases) and insurance.
Participate in construction projects (budgets, cost tracking, invoices, timelines).
Maintain financial tracking by project.
Optimize accounting systems and tools (Yardi).
Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller in commercial real estate.
Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting.
CPA designation (strong asset).
Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
Knowledge of Yardi (major asset).
Advanced French and functional English to serve an English-speaking clientele (approximately 20% of the time).
