Armed with your multimeter and laptop, you hunt down problems and ensure that no vehicle or equipment leaves your workshop with a defect! Our client, a well-established dealership recognized for its welcoming team and strong leadership, is looking for a diagnostic specialist mechanic to work on a variety of vehicles and equipment. Not from the area? Tasks

  • Identify and locate faults in electrical, electronic, mechanical, and network systems.
  • Determine vehicle defects based on customer complaints and thorough inspections.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance according to manufacturer and dealership standards.
  • Conduct inspections and road tests to verify functionality, detect damage or anomalies, and validate repairs.
  • Communicate with the service advisor, foreman, and parts department to obtain necessary parts and report any additional work required.
  • Train and mentor apprentice technicians in diagnostic and repair techniques.
  • Document all work performed and recommendations on the repair order to ensure accurate follow-up.
  • Stay up-to-date with manufacturer technical bulletins and participate in ongoing training programs.
  • Ensure safety and compliance by following regulations, reporting defects, and adhering to workplace health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and vehicles.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements

  • DEP in Automated Systems Electromechanics, Automotive Mechanics, Heavy Equipment Mechanics, or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostics.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems, including using a multimeter for electrical diagnostics.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, including Ohm’s Law and Quebec’s Safety Code (Loi 12).
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required for road testing.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a passion for sharing knowledge and mentoring apprentice technicians.
