A Quebec-based company specializing in the manufacturing of custom plasma cutting systems for over 15 years. With five locations totaling more than 125,000 square feet of production space and over 1,500 installations completed in North America and Europe, the organization offers high-quality equipment, including full installation and specialized training. As a growing company, they are looking for new talent to join their dynamic team and contribute to large-scale projects. As part of the technical team, the electromechanical technician actively participates in assembling cutting equipment. They ensure proper commissioning and functionality, both in the workshop and on-site. Frequent short-term travel is required to client locations, primarily in Canada and the United States.

Tasks

  • Participate in the integration and installation of the mechanical and electrical systems of the equipment.
  • Interpret technical diagrams to ensure installation meets specifications.
  • Perform functionality tests and adjust settings to optimize machine performance.
  • Diagnose failures and intervene on electrical or mechanical components.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks on existing equipment.
  • Use a variety of manual and specialized tools effectively.
  • Provide technical training to users on installed equipment.
  • Respond quickly to service requests, both on-site and remotely.
  • Ensure technical follow-up with clients, including required travel.
  • Write intervention reports and manage expenses related to travel.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients and team members.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as reservations and online purchases.
  • Actively contribute to workplace health and safety risk prevention.
  • Complete any other tasks related to the efficient functioning of the technical service.

Job requirements

  • Secondary education equivalent or relevant training certification.
  • Professional diploma in electromechanics, mechatronics, industrial mechanics, or electronics.
  • Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written. 50% of the time requires travel to the United States and Canada.
  • Practical experience in the installation or maintenance of technical equipment in an industrial environment.
  • Availability for frequent travel within Canada and the United States.
  • Ability to manage unexpected situations and work efficiently in demanding circumstances.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong customer service skills.
