Are you recognized for your rigor, organizational skills, and ability to be hands-on in ensuring compliance with environmental standards? Do you want to put your expertise to work on large-scale projects in a stimulating environment? This position is for you! Our client is looking for an Environmental Advisor for a 5-month mandate, until March 2026, to support environmental monitoring activities and construction projects. By joining this team, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to upholding environmental commitments and sustainable development principles while collaborating with numerous internal and external stakeholders.

Tasks

  • Review environmental management programs developed by contractors and oversee their implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with ADM’s standards, guidelines, and specific requirements throughout construction projects.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to guarantee environmental compliance of projects and tenant sites.
  • Participate in site meetings with contractors, project teams, and consultants.
  • Intervene on-site to follow up on corrective measures after spills or other environmental incidents.
  • Respond to environmental emergencies and document the actions taken.
  • Verify and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions in cases of non-compliance.
  • Prepare inspection, incident, and compliance reports.
  • Track environmental indicators (water quality, waste management, spills, etc.).
  • Provide advice on environmental regulations and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Raise awareness among stakeholders about the importance of rigorous environmental management.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
  • Perform any other duties required by the position.

Job requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in environment, engineering, geology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a construction site context.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable environmental regulations.
  • Perfectly bilingual (French and English) in order to communicate effectively with clients 50% of the time.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid ASP Construction card.
  • Valid driver’s license and availability to travel between Montréal and Mirabel.
