Do you have solid experience in construction projects and a passion for cost estimating? Are you looking to work on stimulating projects in a dynamic environment? If you’re motivated by challenges and eager to grow in the construction field, this opportunity could be exactly what you’re looking for! Our client, a third-generation family-owned company specializing in general construction, is growing and looking for a Construction Estimator to join its team. Reporting to management, you’ll be responsible for project estimation, tender management, and bid follow-ups, while ensuring project quality and profitability.

Tasks

  • Read and analyze plans and specifications to prepare cost and material estimates.
  • Evaluate projects and estimate required costs and materials.
  • Prepare tender packages and analyze received bids.
  • Draft and compile submissions in collaboration with management.
  • Contribute to the management and tracking of ongoing projects.
  • Ensure adherence to project budgets and schedules.
  • Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and compare pricing.
  • Participate in site visits when required.
  • Perform any other related tasks contributing to project success.

Job requirements

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in estimating or project management in a similar construction environment in Quebec.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of project management software (Procore, strong asset).
  • Solid understanding of construction materials and methods.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel to project locations as needed.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • College diploma (DEC) or bachelor’s degree (BAC) in estimation, civil engineering, or a related field (asset).
