Be part of one of the most memorable moments in the lives of thousands of graduates! We are looking for several event hosts for the graduation ceremonies of a major Montreal university recognized for its academic excellence, significant research activities, and internationally renowned alumni community. Several ceremonies bringing together thousands of graduates and their loved ones will take place from August 18 to 23, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal. Mandatory training will be held on August 17, from 1:00 p.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m., to ensure that everyone fully understands their role and the event guidelines. Important: This assignment requires reliability, punctuality, and commitment. You may not be scheduled to work every day, but you must attend all confirmed shifts. Once you accept your schedule, your attendance is essential.

Tasks

  • Warmly welcoming graduates, families and guests.
  • Preparing and assisting graduates before, during, and after the ceremonies.
  • Directing attendees to the appropriate lines and areas.
  • Helping maintain a smooth flow of people and preventing crowding in reception areas.
  • Ensuring that guidelines are followed and limiting unnecessary movement within restricted areas.
  • Supporting operations at the coat check, stairways, gown distribution area, changing rooms, or main hall.
  • Promptly referring any difficult situation to the event supervisors or on-site security team.
  • Performing any other related duties required for the event.
  • Responsibilities may vary depending on your assigned position and the flow of the ceremonies.

Job requirements

  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, sound judgment, and punctuality.
  • Be available for the mandatory training session on August 17, 2026, starting at 1:00 p.m.
  • Have good availability from August 18 to 23, 2026, from as early as 8:30 a.m. until the evening, depending on the flow of the ceremonies.
  • Follow all instructions carefully and remain at your assigned station for the entire shift.
  • Have at least six months of experience in customer service, events, or a similar role, as well as an excellent service-oriented attitude.
  • Be fluent in French and comfortable standing and walking for several hours.
  • Own professional attire consisting of a white shirt and black pants, in accordance with the provided dress code guidelines.
