Our client, a well established and growing manufacturing company, is looking for a Financial Controller who is passionate about performance, financial accuracy, and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to senior management, you will be at the heart of the company’s financial operations. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys combining analysis, leadership, and close collaboration with operations, in a dynamic environment where your expertise will truly make a difference.

Tasks

  • Take full ownership of the monthly financial close, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.
  • Oversee accounting activities: general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs (production costs, margins, inventory, efficiency, etc.).
  • Create clear, decision oriented management dashboards.
  • Analyze budget variances and provide practical recommendations to management.
  • Actively participate in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial scenarios.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal controls and financial processes.
  • Participate in ERP implementation or optimization projects.
  • Structure, document, and automate processes to improve efficiency.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the accounting/finance team.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Job requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in finance/accounting, including significant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with monthly close, financial analysis, and budgeting.
  • Experience with process improvement and/or system implementation projects.
  • Bilingualism in French/English, spoken and written, to communicate with suppliers and English-speaking employees (70% French, 30% English).
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong familiarity with financial ERPs.
  • CPA designation (asset).
