The Financial Controller plays a key role within senior management by overseeing all financial and accounting operations of the organization. They ensure the accuracy of financial information, regulatory compliance, and strategic tax management, while actively contributing to budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic decision-making.

Tasks

  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Manage and strengthen internal controls to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure proper filing of tax returns.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Lead and support the accounting and finance team.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and optimization opportunities.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closings, ensuring deadlines and accuracy are met.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management to support decision-making.
  • Manage cash flow and anticipate future financial needs.
  • Assess and manage financial risks.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA designation obtained or in progress.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in accounting or financial management; experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken (international clients, 80% of the time).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic financial planning and forecasting experience.
  • Budget development and management experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and audit coordination.
  • Team management and staff development skills.
  • Financial reporting, variance analysis, risk management, and internal controls experience.
