Do you have experience in heavy vehicle or trailer mechanics? Are you looking for a stable daytime position in a dynamic environment? Reporting to the Mechanical Foreman, the Heavy Vehicle Mechanic will be primarily responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on a fleet of heavy vehicles and trailers while ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of the equipment on a daily basis.

Tasks

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on the fleet of trucks and trailers.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other technical failures.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools to efficiently identify and resolve issues.
  • Diagnose, adjust, correct, assemble, disassemble, and repair various vehicle components in the shop.
  • Complete repairs within the established service timelines.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Job requirements

  • DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.
  • PEP certification (an asset).
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable handling unexpected situations in a workshop environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
