Our client is looking for two heavy vehicle mechanics for their mobile unit to carry out interventions directly at clients’ sites and in the field. One position will cover the Laval and North Shore areas, while the other will be assigned to the Island of Montreal. The company is a well-established player in the heavy vehicle industry, supported by a vast network of dealerships across North America. It stands out for the quality of its network, the strength of its after-sales service, and the reputation of the products it represents, which include some of the most recognized, reliable, and valued trucks on the market, known for their manufacturing quality, durability, comfort, and long-term value. In this key role, you will be responsible for directly intervening at client sites to perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy vehicles. As the interventions take place on the road, the person sought must be capable of managing situations independently, without the immediate support of a workshop. This position requires a high level of expertise in engines, mechanics, electricity, and electronics, as well as great ease in solving demanding technical issues in the field.

Tasks

  • Performing mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostics directly at clients' sites or on-site.
  • Identifying the source of malfunctions and determining the required repairs independently.
  • Carrying out repairs according to applicable technical standards and manufacturers’ requirements.
  • Addressing complex issues involving engines, mechanical components, electrical systems, and electronic systems.
  • Planning interventions effectively to ensure fast, structured, and professional service.
  • Accurately documenting diagnostics, repairs completed, and recommendations to be passed on.
  • Providing professional service to clients and positively representing the company in the field.
  • Reporting any special situations, anomalies, or follow-up needs to the relevant team.
  • Maintaining work equipment and using safe working methods at all times.
  • Participating in required training to keep technical knowledge up to date.
  • Completing any other related tasks necessary for the smooth execution of interventions.

Advantages

  • Comprehensive group insurance after the probationary period.
  • Telemedicine and employee assistance program.
  • RRSP with employer contribution.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Vehicle and gas card provided for travel.
  • Annual allowances for personal protective equipment and tools.
  • Collaborative work environment and a focus on safety.
  • Social activities and the company’s commitment to employee well-being.

Job requirements

  • Training in heavy vehicle mechanics, construction equipment, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Completed and up-to-date Cummins or MX Paccar certifications.
  • Significant experience in advanced diagnostics, particularly in electronics, engines, and related systems.
  • Strong proficiency with electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
  • Excellent customer service and functional bilingualism to consult technical documentation and communicate with clients, of which approximately 30% are anglophone.
  • A toolbox suited to the job's requirements.
  • Availability outside regular working hours for service calls, with applicable compensation.
  • Good physical condition and comfort working outdoors in different environments.
  • Valid class 3 driver’s license.
