The ideal candidate has strong expertise in labour relations within a unionized environment, as well as in human resources, enabling them to anticipate needs and propose tailored solutions. They support managers in the application of collective agreements, laws, and policies while promoting a healthy and equitable work environment.
Reporting to the HR Director, the selected candidate will provide general human resources support to a recycling facility operating 7 days a week, located in Ville Sainte-Catherine. Overall, the HR Business Partner – Labour Relations acts as a strategic and operational expert in managing relationships with employees and union partners.
Tasks
Advise and support managers in the day-to-day management of labour relations and sensitive situations (conflicts, complaints, harassment, etc.)
Interpret and apply collective agreements, as well as labour laws and regulations
Manage disciplinary and administrative files (investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, etc.)
Represent the employer in dealings with unions, participate in labour relations committees, and take part in collective agreement negotiations
Develop, implement, and promote prevention and conflict management strategies, as well as compliant and innovative practices
Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures, and train and support managers on best practices
Participate in HR activities (unionized and non-unionized recruitment, support to supervisors, special projects, and other related tasks)
Perform any other related duties as required

Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience
Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment (mandatory)
Experience in the industrial and/or manufacturing sector (asset)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and research abilities
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
Member of the CRHA order (or equivalent)
Bilingualism (advanced French and English) required due to frequent interactions with an HR team based in Ontario (approximately 50% of the time)
