Our client, a leader in industrial manufacturing and construction in the Lac-Saint-Jean region, carries out projects involving industrial piping, pressure vessels, boilers, and tanks for some of Quebec’s largest organizations.
To support its continued growth and numerous major projects, the company is currently seeking a new team member to strengthen its engineering department.
Tasks
Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to clearly define project scope
Perform quantity takeoffs and estimate labor, material, equipment, and subcontracting costs
Solicit, analyze, and compare bids from suppliers and subcontractors
Conduct site visits, when required, to validate conditions and project constraints
Assess the technical feasibility of projects and identify potential risks
Prepare bid documents and cost breakdown tables
Ensure estimates comply with client requirements
Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and other internal departments
Perform any other related duties as required
Advantages
Hourly wage of $28 to $48, based on experience (40 hours per week)

Job requirements
College diploma (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or other relevant training
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial construction (industrial equipment installation)
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Strong proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Estimating experience (asset)
Knowledge of piping, welding, fabricated steel structures, or boilermaking/platework (asset)
Knowledge of English, both written and spoken (asset)
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a team
