Our client, a leader in industrial manufacturing and construction in the Lac-Saint-Jean region, carries out projects involving industrial piping, pressure vessels, boilers, and tanks for some of Quebec’s largest organizations.
To support its growth and numerous major projects, the company is currently seeking a new team member to strengthen its engineering department.
Tasks
Create 2D technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks (approximately 90% of the work), as well as AutoCAD Plant 3D
Produce assembly, fabrication, and detail drawings for piping, pressure vessels, and tanks
Update and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and project managers
Ensure drawings comply with applicable standards (ASME, API, CSA) and client requirements
Prepare production documentation, including cutting lists, cutting programs, and related documents
Manage drawing versions and revisions
Verify the accuracy and consistency of drawings and identify errors before release to manufacturing
Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers in the fabrication shop
Recommend improvements to drafting standards, component libraries, and CAD processes
Perform any other related duties as required

Hourly wage of $27 to $41, based on experience (40 hours per week)

Job requirements
DEP (Vocational Diploma) in Industrial Drafting or other relevant training
Experience in industrial drafting within a manufacturing environment; both entry-level candidates and experienced professionals will be considered
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D
Experience with piping, pressure vessels, boilers, or tanks (strong asset)
Knowledge of ASME, API, and CSA standards (asset)
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Authorized to work in Canada (open work permit or permanent residency)
