Our partner, a Quebec engineering firm focused on innovation and continuous improvement, with a mission to strive for excellence at all levels, is looking for an industrial draftsman at its Chambly branch. The company operates primarily in the agri-food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical sectors. As an industrial draftsman, you will help deliver custom-made projects for clients. Your main role is to turn dreams into reality by transforming ideas into drawings.
Tasks
Design 2D plans on AutoCAD.
Develop and update Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
Create 3D layout drawings (AutoCAD) based on piping design and instrumentation drawings.
Draft technical documentation as needed.
Develop technical specifications when required.
Maintain accurate documentation of all designs, modifications, and specifications.
Conduct site surveys.
Work closely with the engineering team and project managers to ensure the technical feasibility of drawings and compliance with client specifications.
Thoroughly understand custom manufacturing processes, including piping, machining, welding, and assembly.
Actively participate in the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes by suggesting innovations and optimizations.
Ensure clear communication with various departments.
Perform any other tasks required by the position.

Job requirements
DEC in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or any other relevant training.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an industrial draftsman – equipment designer.
Experience in the field of industrial instrumentation.
Fully bilingual to serve a bilingual clientele (mostly English-speaking suppliers).
Proficiency in design and drafting software (AutoCAD 2D – 3D, Solid Edge, SolidWorks).
Comfortable with computers and a good knowledge of Collabox or SAP software.
5 years of experience in engineering, electromechanics, welding, etc. (asset).
Bachelor's degree in engineering in a relevant discipline (asset).
