Tasks

  • Participate in the purchasing process for raw materials, technical components, and specialized equipment.
  • Prepare requests for quotes, analyze bids, and support purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery times, and supplier terms under supervision.
  • Issue purchase orders (PO) and ensure follow-up until materials are received.
  • Follow up on order confirmations and resolve issues related to quantity, price, and delivery times.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and warehouse teams to ensure alignment between production needs and supply availability.
  • Participate in inventory management by working with the warehouse team to ensure stock management.
  • Handle non-conformities related to product quality and logistical services.
  • Suggest product alternatives based on technical drawings and specifications.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing processes.
  • Participate in supplier evaluations and search for new sourcing opportunities.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • Training in procurement, logistics, administration, or a similar field (DEP, DEC, or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment).
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, and/or manufacturing.
  • Experience and strong skills in negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written (over 50% of communications with suppliers are in English).
  • Ability to interpret simple technical documents (plans, specifications).
