Reporting to the Planning Coordinator – Engineering, the Mining Engineer plays a key role in developing long-term mining strategies. He/she contributes to optimizing the use of mineral resources by developing strategic scenarios supported by rigorous technical and economic analyses.
In collaboration with internal teams and external partners, he/she actively participates in long-term planning, risk and opportunity assessments, and the continuous improvement of operational practices.

Tasks
Participate in updating and optimizing budget planning and Life of Mine (LOM).
Develop and analyze risks and opportunities related to long-term strategic scenarios.
Act as a Qualified Person (QP) for the approval of mineral reserves.
Participate in the implementation of applicable laws, regulations, standards, and procedures.
Support engineering in defining safe and efficient mining methods.
Collaborate with various departments to resolve issues.
Coordinate the work of external consultants and contractors.
Contribute to technical studies.
Ensure compliance with operational standards, policies, and procedures.
Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Valid general explosives permit.
Completed FMTM modules (1 to 5 and 7).
