Our client is a rapidly growing company in the aerospace sector, located in Laval, operating in a stimulating technical environment. The organization is currently undertaking a strategic project to set up a special processes workshop, directly contributing to its growth and positioning as a key player in the industry. The Operations Director (day shift) will play a central role in the implementation of the new special processes workshop. Reporting directly to the site's General Management, the incumbent will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and ensuring the successful execution of the various phases of the project — from equipment installation to process qualification — while ensuring compliance with budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

Tasks

  • Plan the deployment stages of installations and systems (including the Manufacturing Execution System - MES) using MS Project.
  • Coordinate human, technical, and external resources necessary for the execution of the different phases of the project.
  • Lead follow-up meetings and ensure effective task assignments.
  • Oversee service providers and suppliers.
  • Ensure the successful implementation of the MES project.
  • Manage budget tracking and performance indicators.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Training in project management or operations management.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in implementation project management.
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of special processes in the aerospace sector.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP accreditations (an asset).
  • Experience with ERP/MRP/MES systems (an asset).
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D technical drawings and manufacturing specifications (an asset).
