Our client is looking for a Payroll Specialist who wants a role where expertise, autonomy, and human interaction come together. You will be at the heart of payroll operations, working closely with the Human Resources team while also contributing to certain accounting activities.

Tasks
Process payroll and maintain employee payroll records.
Enter and verify employee compensation data.
Perform calculations related to deductions, withholdings, bonuses, and other compensation elements.
Prepare various payroll reports and follow-ups.
Conduct audits and verifications to ensure data accuracy and correct discrepancies when necessary.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and insurance plans.
Enroll employees and update records with insurance and retirement plans.
Collaborate with the Human Resources team on administrative matters and payroll-related changes.
Ensure compliance with internal policies as well as payroll-related legal and regulatory requirements.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee and compensation information.
Participate in general accounting activities, including account analysis and budget tracking.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll-related administrative and accounting processes.
Perform other related duties as required.

Job requirements
DEP, DEC, or certificate in Accounting, Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations.
Experience with payroll software; knowledge of ADP is considered an asset.
Good proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated discretion, confidentiality, and accuracy when handling employee records.
Strong sense of responsibility, autonomy, and teamwork skills.
Excellent communication and employee service skills..
Professional bilingualism in French and English is required (approximately 50% of daily communications are conducted in English).
