We are seeking an experienced Pouch Manufacturing Machine Operator for one of our clients in Mississauga, a leader in flexible packaging manufacturing solutions. This is a full time, permanent opportunity offering long term growth and development. The Pouch Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining pouch making equipment that converts laminated films into high quality finished pouches while meeting safety, quality, and production standards.

Tasks

  • Set up, operate, adjust, and perform changeovers on pouch making machines according to job specifications
  • Meet or exceed production targets, setup times, and scrap reduction standards
  • Review job specifications and previous run data to ensure correct materials and machine setup
  • Monitor machine operation and identify/correct defects or equipment issues
  • Perform quality inspections and testing (e.g., burst, drop, water table) and complete required documentation
  • Carry out minor repairs and preventive maintenance (seal bars, dies, punches, zipper cloth, etc.)
  • Change rolls, remove splices, and manage trim and waste removal
  • Maintain accurate production and quality control records
  • Keep work areas clean and organized; follow housekeeping and safety procedures
  • Report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions to supervision
  • Support and oversee Pouch Machine Assistants as required
  • Assist other production areas such as printing, slitting, and lamination when needed
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of flexible packaging films is an asset
  • Schedule flexibility required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery and vibration
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and ownership of work
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use basic hand tools
