Our client, a global leader in the aerospace industry, is seeking a Production Manager to oversee a strategic sector encompassing several specialized finishing processes. This role offers the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, influence operational performance, and contribute directly to the manufacturing of critical aerospace products. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of their sector in terms of production, quality, on-time delivery, health and safety, and continuous improvement. They will also be responsible for engaging, developing, and leading their teams to achieve the organization's operational objectives. Tasks

  • Lead and motivate production teams by fostering autonomy, accountability, and the development of employees' and technical resources' skills within the department.
  • Ensure the effective execution of the production plan by working closely with planning teams to meet deadlines, productivity targets, and delivery commitments.
  • Optimize the use of human and material resources by adjusting workforce allocation and promoting cross-training to support operational requirements.
  • Quickly identify operational issues, coordinate required interventions with support functions (maintenance, quality, human resources, etc.), and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards by promoting best practices, participating in incident investigations, and following up on inspections and associated action plans.
  • Drive quality performance within the sector by supporting problem-solving activities, reducing non-conformities, and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
  • Support organizational changes and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, flexibility, and overall operational performance.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Job requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Approximately 10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and continuous improvement.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written) is required to effectively collaborate with English-speaking branches and business partners (approximately 30% of interactions).
