Are you an experienced professional in the field of electrical stations and substations looking to contribute to large-scale technical projects? Our client, a well-established company specializing in the construction, maintenance, and modernization of power lines and distribution substations, is seeking a Project Manager to manage and develop Hydro-Québec–related projects across the province. This position is ideal for an experienced lineworker looking to transition into a project coordination role while maintaining a strong connection to field operations. You will join an organization led by skilled tradespeople, where hands-on expertise is valued, communication is direct, and pride in quality workmanship is central to the company culture. You will play a key role in the development and execution of projects essential to Quebec’s energy infrastructure, within a human-scale, dynamic, and stable work environment. The position is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere in Quebec.

Tasks

  • Identify and develop new projects, including responding to public tenders (Hydro-Québec) and maintaining a strong partner network.
  • Prepare cost estimates (materials, labor, equipment) and compile technical project documentation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of medium-voltage projects, including cable pulling, substation installation, and connections.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, contracts, resources, and client communications.
  • Supervise subcontractors and internal field teams, ensuring compliance with Hydro-Québec standards, CCQ regulations, and health and safety requirements (CNESST).
  • Ensure rigorous project follow-up, adjust plans as needed, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements

  • Significant experience with electrical stations, substations, and medium-voltage projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Hydro-Québec standards and procedures.
  • Technical training (DEC, AEC in Electrical Technology, Lineworker training) or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with project estimation and management software (Excel, MS Project, CMEQ, etc.).
