This opportunity is for you! Our client, a third-generation family business specializing as a general contractor, is looking to further develop its multiplex division while maintaining its activities in the residential and commercial sectors. In this context, we are seeking a Project Manager to join the team. Reporting to the Project Director, the selected candidate will be responsible for the administrative and operational coordination of projects, including tracking schedules, communication between stakeholders, shop drawings, purchase orders, and change orders.

Tasks

  • Assist in establishing and monitoring project schedules in collaboration with the superintendent and project management team.
  • Manage project administration with subcontractors, including purchase orders, shop drawings, and change orders.
  • Track project progress using existing tools, including Procore.
  • Coordinate the delivery of shop drawings and required documents to the relevant professionals.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and various stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Follow up on manufacturing and installation elements, particularly for specific components or assemblies depending on the project.
  • Participate in follow-up meetings with professionals and various partners involved in the projects.
  • Conduct site visits as needed.
  • Ensure smooth communication between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the simultaneous successful execution of multiple projects, primarily in the multiplex sector.
  • Perform any other tasks related to the successful completion of projects.

Job requirements

  • DEC or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a relevant related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in residential, multiplex, and commercial construction project management.
  • Significant hands-on experience managing construction projects of 30 units or more.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software, especially Procore.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction standards, processes, materials, equipment, applicable laws, and Quebec construction industry practices.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret plans and technical documents.
  • Excellent written and spoken French.
  • Availability for a primarily on-site position, with travel to construction sites as required.
  • High rigor in project and schedule tracking.
  • Strong ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders on the same project.
  • Professional engineer title or PMP certification is a major asset.
