Our client, a well-established organization in its sector, is seeking a Public Affairs and Government Relations Advisor to join its team. In this strategic role, you will be involved in political, governmental, and regulatory matters. You will have the opportunity to analyze complex issues, advise senior management, build relationships with key stakeholders, and contribute to the organization’s positioning and advocacy efforts. Tasks

  • Monitor political, governmental, and regulatory developments that may impact the organization.
  • Analyze various issues and provide management with relevant information and key considerations.
  • Prepare position papers, briefing notes, summaries, and other strategic communication tools.
  • Support the development and maintenance of relationships with government representatives, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of meetings with decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure appropriate follow-up after meetings and maintain up-to-date records of activities and initiatives.
  • Support the development of communications and content intended for various audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of public affairs activities and events.
  • Perform any other related duties connected to the organization’s activities.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, politics, public policy analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Quebec government institutions and processes.
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis, and writing skills.
  • Sound judgment, strong political awareness, and the ability to simplify complex issues.
  • Self-motivation, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong proficiency in French, both spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of English is considered an asset.
