Effective planning turns ideas into actions and challenges into results. Our client, located in Laval, is a manufacturing company known for its innovative and sustainable solutions. It is looking for a Purchasing and Production Planner. You will coordinate procurement, inventory management and order planning to ensure smooth and efficient production in a stimulating and collaborative environment.

Tasks

  • Purchasing and Procurement :
  • Analyze the needs for materials and components.
  • Place orders, track deliveries, follow up with suppliers and compare offers to optimize purchases.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure the compliance of products received.
  • Inventory and warehouse management :
  • Organize and supervise storage.
  • Carry out periodic and annual inventories.
  • Identify and track non-compliant products.
  • Prepare and distribute the components needed for production.
  • Production planning :
  • Develop production plans according to priorities and orders.
  • Prepare production orders (material lists – LoCs).
  • Ensure the availability of raw materials and components.
  • Adjust schedules in case of unforeseen events.
  • Maintain an optimal level of inventory to avoid shortages or surpluses.
  • Inter-departmental collaboration :
  • Work closely with sales, production, and customer service teams to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Identify bottlenecks in order to improve processes.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • DEP or DEC in procurement, logistics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good command of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and office automation tools (Excel, Outlook).
  • Organizational skills, rigor and ability to manage several priorities simultaneously.
  • Team player, autonomy and strong communication skills.
  • Experience in metal or furniture manufacturing (an asset).
  • Knowledge of procurement, inventory management and industrial production practices (an asset).
  • Familiarity with material lists (LoM) and manufacturing processes (an asset).
