Our partner, a leading manufacturer based in Montreal, is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to strengthen its research and development team and contribute to the evolution of its residential and commercial product lines. In this key role, you will be responsible for product design and optimization, overseeing safety, energy efficiency, and reliability testing, and leading innovation projects for existing or new product lines. You will work closely with internal and international teams to ensure product success.

Tasks

  • Design and optimize residential and commercial products based on customer needs and the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manufacture product components while ensuring their performance and reliability.
  • Manage the product lifecycle, from the initial idea to market launch.
  • Conduct rigorous testing to validate product safety, energy efficiency, quality, and reliability.
  • Maintain technical consistency and ensure the accuracy of all related data and documentation.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Identify product improvement opportunities and propose solutions to optimize internal processes.
  • Coordinate efforts with local, national, and international teams to ensure project success.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Member in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the design and development of technical products.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles related to product design: strength of materials, heat transfer, tolerancing, assembly techniques, and CFD simulation.
  • Proficiency with design and engineering software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SAP, and Smartsheet (LabView is an asset).
  • Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written (most internal communication and documentation is in English).
  • Significant experience in water heaters, HVAC, plumbing, heating systems, or tanks.
  • Knowledge of metal manufacturing processes, especially steel.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel.
