Our partner, a well-established family-owned business specializing in the sale, rental, and maintenance of forklifts, is looking for a Service Director – Workshop and Equipment. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for the overall management of the mechanical workshop, the technical team, and the flow of incoming and outgoing equipment. This role places you at the heart of operations, with a direct impact on performance, customer satisfaction, and service quality.
Tasks
Leading, motivating, and supervising the workshop team of three technicians
Assigning tasks, monitoring work progress, and supporting the team in resolving technical issues
Coordinating incoming and outgoing equipment related to repairs, sales, rentals, and aerial platforms
Documenting the condition of equipment using photos and proper tracking methods, particularly for customers, new acquisitions, rentals, and sold units
Communicating with customers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure clear and efficient follow-ups
Managing warranty follow-ups with customers
Inspecting and preparing forklifts prior to delivery or rental
Planning transportation logistics between the company, customers, and suppliers
Organizing deliveries, rental returns, and equipment movements
Ensuring the proper functioning, organization, and overall maintenance of the workshop, including waste management
Ensuring compliance with structural inspections and adherence to CSA standards for specialized equipment
Performing any other duties required for the position

Job requirements
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role involving workshop supervision or technical service management
Relevant experience in managing technical teams and coordinating logistics
Strong knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance
Training in occupational health and safety in mechanical workshop environments
Proficiency with computer tools, including the MS Office suite
Diploma (DEP, AEC, DEC, or Bachelor’s degree) in logistics or operations management (an asset)
Knowledge of CSA standards or training in structural inspection of lifting equipment (an asset)
Forklift certification or training in operating forklifts (an asset)
