Reporting to management, the Team Leader oversees accounting, tax, and operational activities related to the client portfolio. The role involves ensuring the quality of accounting and tax services, mobilizing and supervising the team, and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients and tax authorities.
Tasks
Accounting Supervision
Review technicians’ work and ensure file compliance (including payroll).
Analyze complex accounts and transactions.
Ensure required corrections and improvements are carried out.
Accounting and Tax Management
Prepare year-end files and compilation engagements.
Prepare tax returns (T2/CO17 and selected individual returns).
Perform financial analyses, record investments, and calculate certain taxes.
Ensure the quality of bookkeeping performed by the team.
Team Coordination
Supervise the team, monitor deadlines, and ensure the quality of deliverables.
Manage ongoing projects and review billable hours.
Participate in employee training and evaluations, with regular follow-ups with management.
Client Service and Quality
Advise clients, explain results, and support their use of tools.
Participate in meetings and ensure compliance of deliverables.
Tax Relations – 5%
Manage communications and follow-ups with tax authorities.
Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
CPA designation, an asset.
3 to 5 years of experience in accounting and tax management.
Experience in team supervision.
Strong proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Dext) and Microsoft Office.
Strong financial analysis and tax estimation skills.
Expertise in complex tax returns and dealings with tax authorities.
Ability to review accounting work in accordance with standards.
Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
