Every assembly contributes to the quality of operations. We are seeking a qualified welder-fitter for a unique temporary assignment combining welding and fitting work with an observation role as part of a workplace investigation. Reporting to the person overseeing the assignment, you will perform welding, fitting and repair work in accordance with established drawings and standards. At the same time, you will be expected to blend naturally into the work environment to observe different situations, gather factual information and prepare objective reports. We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient, discreet and observant, with sound professional judgment. You must be able to work credibly in different workplace settings while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, integrity and confidentiality.

Tasks

  • Performing welding work.
  • Fitting and assembling parts and components.
  • Carrying out repair work.
  • Reading and following fabrication drawings.
  • Completing work in accordance with established standards.
  • Blending naturally into the work environment.
  • Observing and analyzing workplace situations.
  • Gathering factual information as part of the assignment.
  • Documenting findings objectively.
  • Preparing clear and accurate reports.
  • Communicating collected information discreetly.
  • Maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Job requirements

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Welding and Fitting, or welding experience.
  • CWB certification for the FCAW process, an asset.
  • Ability to meet the screening and authorization requirements associated with the assignment.
  • Self-sufficiency, discretion and strong observation skills.
  • Sound professional judgment and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
