Our partner, an innovative company in the family entertainment industry, is looking for a General Manager to oversee a key location on the South Shore of Montreal. In this role, you’ll lead all branch operations, manage resources efficiently, coach and inspire a dynamic team, and ensure an outstanding guest experience in a high-energy, ever-evolving environment.

Tasks

  • Recruit, onboard, lead, and retain a team of 15 to 30 employees while overseeing their professional development.
  • Plan and manage ongoing training sessions to ensure the team stays up to date with quality standards and industry best practices.
  • Oversee inventory, supply orders, and facility maintenance to guarantee an optimal guest experience.
  • Communicate, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and operational excellence standards.
  • Identify and implement improvements to internal processes and workflows.
  • Manage labor costs, shrinkage, and supply orders while meeting the branch’s financial targets.
  • Analyze performance metrics (KPIs) and collaborate with senior leadership to achieve operational goals.
  • Lead sales, distribution, and marketing efforts, working closely with the marketing team to drive traffic and boost customer loyalty.
  • Roll out sales initiatives and promotional projects to increase revenue and profitability at the branch level.
  • Ensure all operating licenses and permits are up to date for the assigned location(s).
  • Travel occasionally to other branches as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job requirements

  • High school diploma (required).
  • College or university degree (DEC/Bachelor’s) in management or a related field (an asset).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar leadership role, managing a team of 15+ in a retail, service, leisure, or entertainment environment.
  • Strong on-the-floor leadership with the ability to make operational decisions and drive team performance.
  • High sense of responsibility, integrity, and operational rigor.
  • Solid understanding of organizational efficiency and business principles.
  • Comfortable using technology to manage scheduling, inventory, and process improvements.
  • Bilingual (French and English) – essential for smooth communication with the team and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule (day, evening, weekends).
