Our client is a well-established and highly respected organization operating in the transportation, logistics, and operational services sector in Dorval. Known for its strong reputation, solid operations, and customer-focused approach, the company is seeking a General Manager to ensure business continuity and support its next phase of growth.
Reporting to senior leadership, the General Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the operation, including financial results, team leadership, and strategic development. The successful candidate will build on an already strong foundation, preserve the culture in place, and help guide the business toward continued profitable growth.
Tasks
Lead the overall operations of the terminal and ensure the achievement of operational and financial objectives.
Oversee multiple business activities and ensure that day-to-day execution remains efficient, disciplined, and aligned with company expectations.
Manage financial performance, including budgeting, profitability, cost control, and key performance indicators.
Maintain a strong operational presence and provide leadership, direction, and support to managers and teams across the organization.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, and overall performance.
Contribute to business growth through planning, forecasting, capacity alignment, and the development of new opportunities.
Build, mentor, and strengthen the leadership team while ensuring the right people are in the right roles.
Maintain and reinforce a healthy, accountable, and service-oriented culture across the operation.
Develop strong relationships with key clients and step in when necessary to support the resolution of complex issues or service recovery.
Work closely with senior leadership and business partners to ensure alignment with broader business priorities and long-term goals.

Job requirements
Significant experience as a General Manager, Terminal Manager, Director of Operations, or other senior operational leadership role.
Proven experience managing a large operation, ideally in transportation, logistics, services, distribution, or a comparable operational environment.
Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, P&L, and performance metrics.
Demonstrated ability to balance daily operational demands with strategic planning and growth initiatives.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach, develop, and align teams.
Strong understanding of the Quebec market and its operational realities.
Bilingualism in French and English, to communicate with offices across different provinces.
