Our client is a company specialized in the design, manufacturing, and implementation of custom mechanical solutions for large-scale industrial and commercial projects. Known for its technical expertise, culture of innovation, and service quality, the company relies on a team of passionate experts who contribute daily to the realization of complex and stimulating projects. Reporting directly to the General Management, the Operations and Projects Director will play a key role in the overall performance of the company. Acting as the right hand of the General Director, the person in this role will be responsible for planning, organizing, and optimizing operations related to projects, production, and services, while ensuring the cohesion and mobilization of technical teams.

Tasks

  • Supervise daily operations and project execution in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage and lead a team of approximately 50 employees, including 44 technicians, 4 dispatchers, a warehouse manager, a service coordinator, and a project team.
  • Ensure the planning and coordination of resources to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with related departments (sales, engineering, service) to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Establish and track performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of operational processes and change management.
  • Serve as a mentor to team managers and promote a healthy and collaborative work environment.

Job requirements

  • University degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Canada, including at least 5 years as an operations or project director.
  • Significant experience managing technical teams in a manufacturing or mechanical service environment.
  • Excellent job stability (more than 3 years on average in previous roles).
  • Motivating leadership, organizational rigor, and strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written, to communicate with all staff approximately 15% of the time.
  • Strong understanding of the legal and cultural context of the Canadian market.
  • A pragmatic, structured individual capable of thriving in a growing environment.
