Our client is a construction company specializing in commercial interior fit-out projects across North America. Its projects primarily focus on retail spaces and office environments. Based in Saint-Laurent, the project management team oversees projects from contract award through to final completion.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of commercial interior fit-out projects, from contract award to client handover. You will ensure that schedules, budgets, quality standards, and client expectations are met. Supported by Project Coordinators, you will manage subcontractors and suppliers while serving as the primary point of contact for clients and design professionals. This position offers a flexible schedule and occasional travel, primarily within Canada.
Tasks
Manage commercial interior fit-out projects from contract award through project closeout.
Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and deliverables using MS Project.
Manage project budgets, including cost tracking, forecasting, progress billings, and change orders.
Award and administer subcontractor and supplier contracts while overseeing procurement activities.
Coordinate technical project requirements, including shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and collaboration with architects and designers.
Serve as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, and property managers.
Lead project and site meetings and prepare progress reports.
Conduct site visits to ensure quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules are maintained, including travel outside the region when required.
Oversee the work of Project Coordinators assigned to your projects.
Manage project closeout activities, including deficiency lists, turnover documentation, and final client handover.
Perform all other related duties as required.

Job requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience managing construction projects, ideally with a general contractor specializing in commercial interior fit-outs (retail and office projects).
College diploma or bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of cost control, scheduling, contract administration, and change order management.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, with a solid understanding of interior construction methods.
Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Sense of urgency and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
Strong leadership skills with subcontractors and excellent client relationship management abilities.
Availability for occasional travel, primarily throughout Canada.
