In the northern village of Salluit, at the heart of Nunavik, a unique opportunity awaits: a fly-in/fly-out position as a heavy equipment mechanic. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery (John Deere, Caterpillar) and trucks (Kenworth, MACK, Freightliner). Tasks

  • Repair hydraulic systems on heavy equipment.
  • Assemble and crimp high-pressure hydraulic hoses.
  • Inspect and rebuild hydraulic cylinders on machinery.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical inspections.
  • Replace mechanical and hydraulic components (pins, bushings, seals, cylinders, brakes, etc.).
  • Change tires and repair punctures.
  • Carry out repairs on 10-wheel trucks (mechanical and hydraulic systems).
  • Perform various related tasks.

Job requirements

  • Diploma in Heavy Equipment Mechanics (DEP) or equivalent recognized experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding.
  • Hands-on experience with loaders and excavators required.
  • Good command of written and spoken French.
  • Intermediate proficiency in English used approximately 25% of the time to communicate with clients who speak little or no French.
