Day shift, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week).
Our client, a law firm located in Old Montreal and known for its expertise in civil and commercial litigation as well as class actions, is currently looking for a Legal Assistant. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the high quality of service provided to clients.

Tasks

  • Manage and coordinate the schedules of the lawyers on the team, including appointments, meetings, hearings, trials, and court attendances.
  • Proactively oversee case management and ensure compliance with legal deadlines.
  • Draft, format, and revise various legal procedures for litigation files.
  • Prepare exhibit books, case law compendiums (books of authorities), and trial binders.
  • Organize and accurately file both physical and digital documents within case files.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to fellow legal assistants, depending on operational needs.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a legal assistant in litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures in Quebec.
  • DEC or ASP in legal secretarial studies or other relevant, recognized training.
  • Bilingual – French and English, to communicate effectively with a primarily English-speaking clientele (approximately 70% of the time).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
