Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m with two 15 min breaks and one 30 min break for lunch.
Are you passionate about library science and providing exceptional support in an academic environment? Do you excel in a role where your organizational skills and attention to detail make a difference? If so, we want to hear from you! We are looking for a dedicated Library Technician to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be to support the library's daily operations and ensure the efficient handling and organization of library materials.

Tasks

  • Handle check-ins and check-outs using the SYMPHONY system.
  • Use Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, for library tasks and administration.
  • Label and organize physical materials.
  • Prepare surplus materials for disposal and manage the process.
  • Maintain binding lists, prepare materials for binding, and check quality.
  • Help with general library tasks like shelving, mail, photocopying, and sending materials.
  • Execute other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.

Job requirements

  • At least two (2) years of approved post-secondary education in library science or a related field.
  • 6 months of experience shelving library materials in the past three years.
  • Recent experience with circulating library materials using systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Master's in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • Experience with the SYMPHONY system’s circulation and serials management is a plus.
