Are you an experienced maintenance professional? Do you possess strong industrial maintenance expertise? Have you successfully planned and implemented preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure the smooth operation of key production equipment? Have you mastered the art of time and priority management, minimizing unplanned downtime and thereby ensuring reliable and efficient production? We have the challenge you need! Our client, located on the South Shore of Montreal, is a rapidly expanding company that has been in operation for nearly two decades. They have developed impeccable expertise in the field of polypropylene. The company offers high-quality products to its customers in various sectors and is currently seeking a scheduler for their maintenance department. Under the supervision of the Superintendent, you will play an essential role in scheduling and managing maintenance. You will be the go-to person for ensuring the availability of human and material resources for maintenance, aiming for the smooth running of equipment and factory operations.

Tasks

  • Ensuring the required cleanliness level according to AIB, BRCGS, and HACCP requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 12001, ISO 45001 standards.
  • Monitoring the material and equipment inventory, coordinating orders and replenishments with the Purchaser.
  • Ensuring the availability of human and material resources necessary for maintenance.
  • Coordinating work with different departments (production, purchasing, maintenance, engineering).
  • Completing reports (work orders, work history, plans and specifications, work hours, ISO standards).
  • Training, supervising, and mobilizing your team (between 15 and 20 people) on a daily basis.
  • Receiving, analyzing, and transmitting work orders.
  • Planning maintenance safely.
  • Planning and leading scheduled shutdowns.
  • Supervising all maintenance team operations.
  • Planning and coordinating all maintenance operations to achieve defined objectives.
  • Planning, organizing, and monitoring budgets and schedules specific to maintenance.
  • Actively participating in various committees and meetings (SST, sustainability, ISO, etc.).
  • Replacing the Maintenance Supervisor when needed.
  • Keeping maintenance system data up to date.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Performing any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • DCS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a degree in Electromechanics.
  • At least five years of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to respond to maintenance issue calls in the evenings and on weekends.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers.
  • Knowledge of the plastics or pulp and paper sector.
  • Knowledge of plastic extrusion equipment.
  • Ability to read plans and technical drawings.
  • Ability to use different software such as the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and an ERP system.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad (2D, 3D), SAP, and Optivision software.
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written.
