Day shift, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., approximately 50 hours per week during peak season
Our client is a well-established organization in the transportation and logistics industry with a strong presence in the Montreal market. Its operations cover local, long-distance, and cross-country logistics across Canada. The operations team, based at the Montreal terminal, manages each shipment from booking through final delivery.
You are the key link between customers, third-party agency crews, and external partners, ensuring that information, equipment, and personnel move in sync with operational requirements. This is a hands-on, full-time, on-site position where most of your day will be spent planning assignments and resolving real-time operational challenges rather than managing from a desk.
Tasks
Plan and coordinate daily logistics operations, including local, long-distance, interprovincial, and cross-country shipments.
Assign third-party agency crews and contracted drivers, and communicate job requirements, load details, and delivery expectations.
Assess the requirements of each assignment, including shipment weight, site access, parking and loading restrictions, equipment needs, and crew sizing.
Coordinate long-distance shipments with external transportation partners.
Act as the primary operational decision-maker throughout the day by reassigning crews, reprioritizing work, and resolving delays, access issues, and service-related concerns.
Supervise one Operations Support Administrator responsible for customer communications, email management, documentation, and billing support.
Perform any other related duties as required.
Advantages
Salary ranging from $85,000 to $100,000, based on experience.

Job requirements
Experience coordinating or dispatching complex, detail-oriented assignments where small mistakes can have significant consequences; logistics experience is considered a major asset.
Candidates from specialized transportation, project cargo, last-mile delivery, or home delivery environments will also be considered.
Comfortable leading contracted or third-party teams that are not directly employed by your organization.
Ability to work effectively despite constant interruptions and changing priorities while maintaining control of commitments and deadlines.
Professional background demonstrating stability and success in demanding work environments.
Strong sense of accountability, including the ability to acknowledge mistakes, correct them, and receive feedback constructively.
Excellent command of English combined with functional professional French in order to communicate with English-speaking colleagues (approximately 50% of the time); Spanish is considered a significant asset.
