Our client, a public sector organization, is seeking an Assistant Director for the Department of Material Resources and Transportation. This is a key leadership role reporting to the Director of the Department and providing support in the management of all programs and activities related to the school board’s capital investment projects.
Tasks
Structure the investment division.
Oversee the execution of capital projects and construction work, including new buildings, infrastructure maintenance, and special projects.
Plan and coordinate the construction of two (2) new schools, for which authorizations have already been obtained.
Lead negotiations with municipalities to acquire land and identify strategic locations across the broad service area.
Manage a multidisciplinary team.
Prepare and plan ministry funding applications, including those related to additional space needs.
Plan infrastructure maintenance projects in collaboration with maintenance services.
Support and supervise the internal advisory group responsible for design.
Perform all other related duties.

Job requirements
8 years of experience in project management.
5 years of experience in personnel management.
Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or the Ordre des architectes du Québec is a strong asset.
