Our client, a public sector organization, is seeking an Assistant Director for the Department of Material Resources and Transportation. This is a key leadership role reporting to the Director of the Department and providing support in the management of all programs and activities related to the school board’s capital investment projects.

Tasks

  • Structure the investment division.
  • Oversee the execution of capital projects and construction work, including new buildings, infrastructure maintenance, and special projects.
  • Plan and coordinate the construction of two (2) new schools, for which authorizations have already been obtained.
  • Lead negotiations with municipalities to acquire land and identify strategic locations across the broad service area.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team.
  • Prepare and plan ministry funding applications, including those related to additional space needs.
  • Plan infrastructure maintenance projects in collaboration with maintenance services.
  • Support and supervise the internal advisory group responsible for design.
  • Perform all other related duties.

Job requirements

  • 8 years of experience in project management.
  • 5 years of experience in personnel management.
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or the Ordre des architectes du Québec is a strong asset.
