Tasks

  • Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will oversee the organization's operations, actively contribute to the development of its strategic direction, and lead organizational transition initiatives related to a major transformation project.
  • 1. Organizational Leadership
  • Actively participate in defining strategic priorities with the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee the financial, material, and real estate management of the organization.
  • Ensure proactive and people-centered management of resources, including workforce planning, recruitment, performance evaluation, talent development, and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • 2. Member Services
  • Ensure member satisfaction and maintain positive relationships by understanding members' needs and delivering high-quality services.
  • Develop a comprehensive annual training plan to support the ongoing development and recognition of members' professional competencies.
  • Build strategic partnerships to enhance the value of membership, increase the organization’s visibility, and attract future members.
  • 3. Governance and Operations
  • Support and guide the team in carrying out its mandates and responsibilities.
  • Plan and lead the association’s transformation by ensuring a structured transition of services, governance, assets, responsibilities, and member representation.
  • Contribute to innovation and the continuous improvement of practices, services, and governance to support the association’s growth, relevance, sustainability, and long-term success.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and organizational regulations.
  • Manage requests for proposals (RFPs) and legal matters.
  • Ensure the effective operation of committees reporting to the Executive Director and support the Board of Directors in coordinating and monitoring its committees.
  • Oversee document management and record retention.
  • 4. Representation and Government Relations
  • Support the implementation of strategic public affairs and government relations initiatives and ensure communications align with the Board's strategic direction.
  • Represent the organization in political, media, and institutional matters alongside Board representatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of official communications, including briefs, letters, position papers, and other strategic documents.
  • Support organizational spokespersons during meetings with government and political stakeholders.

Job requirements

  • University degree in Administration, Human Resources, Public Relations, Law, Political Science, or another related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in strategic planning and change management.
  • Experience managing human, financial, and material resources.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors, a non-profit organization, a professional association, or a professional order (strong asset).
  • Experience representing an organization before government bodies, institutions, or strategic partners (asset).
  • Bilingualism (French and intermediate English), both spoken and written, to communicate with English-speaking partners (approximately 5% of the time).
