As part of a strategic evolution and future preparation, we are seeking an Executive Director to lead this leading CPE.   • Your main responsibilities:
  • Assist and support the Board of Directors (BoD) in fulfilling its roles and responsibilities, providing necessary information for decision-making, proposing directions and means to implement them, and executing BoD decisions. You will report to the BoD on the completion of the annual action plan. You will represent the employer to staff, and the organization to government, partners, and individuals responsible for home childcare services (RSG).
  • Assist and support the BoD
  • Provide support, advice, and guidance; formulate recommendations; develop and monitor the strategic plan; prepare programs, regulations, and policies; submit the annual action plan; prepare budget forecasts; implement BoD decisions; organize meetings; represent the CPE or the BC.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control activities
  • Ensure compliance with Ministry guidelines; coordinate the action plan; define and monitor directives and processes; establish communication mechanisms; ensure compliance with laws; ensure management information is up to date.
  • Financial resource management
  • Apply budget forecasts; track and control budgets; report to the BoD; prepare financial statements and reports; manage transactions and reconciliation; ensure sound accounting practices; secure eligible revenue sources.
  • Human resource management
  • Act as the employer's representative; ensure negotiation and implementation; plan and meet staffing needs; supervise and implement performance evaluations within teams; mobilize staff; plan and support development and training.
  • Although the assistant directors are responsible for evaluating the educator staff, the Executive Director evaluates the assistant directors, administrative staff, and BC agents. They also ensure that the assistant directors conduct evaluations of their educational staff.
  • Management of material, real estate, and informational resources
  • Ensure the use and maintenance of premises and equipment; oversee inventory and contracts; manage infrastructure; supervise information resources and data security.

Job requirements

  • University degree in administration, financial management, or accounting, strong asset.
  • DEC with two related certificates and more than 10 years of relevant experience in a management position.
  • Minimum of 7 years of management experience in a private or related company.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and budget management.
  • Ability to lead a strategic plan, manage a leadership transition, and ensure service sustainability.
  • Ability to support a BoD, prepare decisions, influence positively, and provide solid guidance.
  • Capacity to coordinate and supervise multiple locations simultaneously.
  • Ability to harmonize practices, ensure uniform processes, and maintain quality in each location.
  • Skills in organizational optimization, logistics, and planning.
