Our client has been active in property management, real estate development and advisory services for over 40 years. The company manages a portfolio of commercial, institutional and residential properties. They are looking for an Accounting Technician to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and provide administrative support for the properties under management.
Tasks
Managing the full accounts payable and accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, deposits, payment processing and payment follow-ups.
Performing bank, credit card and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Preparing journal entries and assisting with month-end closing activities.
Contributing to the preparation of financial reports, analyses and year-end audit files.
Assisting with rent billing and monitoring tenant accounts.
Tracking leases, renewals and rent adjustments.
Monitoring property taxes, insurance and other property-related expenses.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting, administrative and property records.
Supporting the Financial and Corporate Controller with various administrative and financial projects.
Contributing to the improvement of accounting processes and management tools.
Performing any other related duties.

Job requirements
College diploma (DEC) in Accounting, Business Administration or another relevant field.
At least five years of experience as an Accounting Technician or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle.
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
Experience in real estate accounting, property management or a multi-company environment is considered an asset.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience with HOPEM property management software is a strong asset.
Knowledge of Acomba, Sage or similar accounting software.
Professionalism, autonomy, accuracy, attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Excellent command of spoken and written French.
