Assistant Janitor

Tasks

• Perform maintenance and repair work, including:
• Painting walls, ceilings, doors, etc.
• Fixing plumbing leaks, replacing light bulbs, repairing or replacing electrical outlets and switches, etc.
• Cleaning the grounds and parking lots, shoveling snow from walkways.
• Repairing or installing shelves, cabinets, replacing window screens.
• Unclogging sinks, repairing toilets, replacing faucets.
• Responding to emergencies as needed.
• Run errands and perform various tasks, including:
• Running errands by car when needed.
• Answering phone calls.
• Conducting apartment visits for potential tenants.
• Taking out trash and recycling bins.

Job requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Availability required one weekend out of two (on-call mandatory).
• High school diploma (DES) or a diploma in a relevant trade (carpentry, plumbing, electricity).
• ASP construction training (an asset).
• Valid class 5 driver’s license.
