Bird Control Systems Technician

No. 176
November 16, 2023
Between $27 and $34 per hour, depending on experience
Job category
Skilled Trades - Manufacturing
Type of job
Day shift, 40 hours per week (+ overtime at time and a half and Sundays at double time)
Perched high up most of the time, your role will be to help remove the nests that birds have made in your clients' buildings, all with absolute respect for the little flying creatures. You will then need to carefully install control systems that will prevent them from returning to establish themselves in these locations. Our client has been perfecting his art for several decades now. He generously offers to help you with your training by financing the obtaining of your necessary cards for employment if you do not already have them (ASP and aerial platform operation). All you have to do is fly with your own wings!

  • Clean the area of debris left by birds (nests, droppings).
  • Install bird control systems in strategic locations.
  • Arrange control systems to respect animals, that goes without saying!
  • Carry out each installation with your safety and that of customers above all in mind.
  • Perform any other related task so that system installations go as smoothly as possible.
  • If you are ready to take on new challenges, we want to meet you!

  • A great range of group insurance (dental, disability and complementary health) to support you even outside of your working hours (after 3 months of employment).
  • A bank of sick days/personal days to cover unforeseen circumstances.
  • A 2-week vacation to recharge your batteries (after 1 year of employment: 3 weeks).
  • A company car will be at your disposal for your trips to clients.
  • A cell phone and a uniform will also be provided to you so that you are ready to resolve customer pest problems.
  • Our client has the great project of establishing an RRSP program (no contribution) in the short term.

Job requirements

  • You are bilingual (French and English) to serve customers well in their language of choice.
  • You are not afraid of bird droppings (it will be part of your tasks to clean the premises before installing the systems).
  • You have the physical abilities to climb to heights and do the installations.
  • You are able to be available some weekends to be on call.
  • Do you have your ASP Construction card? Its an asset! But if you don't have it, our client will pay for your training and obtaining the card.
  • The same goes for the skills card for operating aerial platforms (to lift you to height): If you have it, it is an asset, otherwise, our client will support you in obtaining it.

Desired profile

  • You have a deep respect for our animal friends, particularly birds.
  • Skillful with your hands, you will effectively install bird control systems.
  • You will often be perched at height to do the installations, so you are comfortable with high altitudes.
  • Your dynamism will be in symbiosis with the dynamic team you will join!
