Just like a Caribbean pirate, you will uncover all the treasures necessary for our client’s fleet! You will be the captain of purchases, skillfully handling gold coins to acquire everything from impeccable uniforms to essential ship parts, all from their base in Rimouski. With at least three years of experience steering a buyer position, you will need to navigate coordinating all activities related to supply chain management and the diverse needs of their large maritime company.   • Make necessary purchases for the ship, including crew needs (food, bedding, laundry, etc.), parts and services for hotel, deck, wheelhouse, and engine room equipment, as well as fuel and lubricants.
  • Set purchase priorities for the supply of annual ship maintenance work in collaboration with the Superintendent – Maritime Operations.
  • Handle purchases for offices and warehouses.
  • Prepare specifications and calls for tenders.
  • Research, identify, and select partners (suppliers and subcontractors) that meet established qualification criteria and certification standards.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • 3 years of professional experience as a Buyer.
  • Bilingual, both spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
